"The
Home of Open Championship Golf" - with three Open courses
Royal Troon, Turnberry and Prestwick where it all started, the
south west of Scotland is a golfing mecca. Stretching from Southerness
in Dumfries-shire to the island courses on Arran and Islay there's
golf courses every step of the way. Ideal for five star tours
or golfing society weekends there are some superb courses to choose
from.
Host
every few years to the Open Championship, Ayrshire is one
of golf's premier destinations. There is more to it than
just Turnberry and Troon however with some superb Open Qualifying
courses and probably the best value golf pass in Scotland.
Not
the easiest and most world renowned area on Scotland's Golfing
circuit but all the better for it. Increasingly its three
"gems" are becoming collectors' items. For Scottishlinks
golf at its best and most varied. Unbeatable golf in unmatchable
locations.
Probably
best known to Irish golfers visiting by ferry the area has
remained a secret golfing destination to even the Scottish
golfer for too long. With courses such as Southerness and
Dunskey the area has more than enough quality golf for the
visiting group.
