Stretching
from the border with England north to the Crinan Canal. Our version
of south west Scotland includes some wonderful coast roads, forest
parks and lochs two islands and the Mull of Kintyre. The South
West of Scotland remains the archetypal best-kept secret with
much of Dumfries and Galloway and Argyll and the islands being
missed out of many visitors itineraries.
Even Ayrshire with its golfing history and Burns Heritage is often
passed over in favour of the Highlands or Edinburgh. Well, give
the area some serious thought. As well as being Scotland in miniature
the diversity is supported with some great hotels offering realistic
short breaks prices and more its easy to get to.
Direct
flights into Prestwick with Ryanair and fast ferry services from
Northern Ireland make the area a very reachable destination. From
village inns to the magnificence of the five star Turnberry Hotel
there is truly something for all in the south west. Weve
broken the area into three areas and featured the areas golf courses
below. Give it a visit if youve got a couple of days spare.
