Irelands South east is steeped in tradition and history. At the
heart of the area is Kilkenny City, the former medieval capital
of Ireland. With the splendid Kilkenny Castle, Black Abbey, Rothe
House and other architectural treasures the city has a character
and ambience like no other.
The
coastline, which offers a beach a day for a fortnight, is one
of the special attractions of this, Irelands sunniest corner.
Its uniqueness is due in no small part to some early visitors
from across the seas - the Celts, Vikings and Norman's
who came, conquered and stayed, so pleasing did they find the
lush rolling countryside and its friendly people.
The
South East is an ideal place to spend some time when you visit
Ireland.
