As a city Derry has had more than its fair share of mentions
in Irish history, perhaps not all for the right reasons but now
is fast positioning itself as a tourism destination in its own
right. The city walls of Derry evoke a sense of history but they
are complemented by an array of superb hotels, restaurants and
nightlife. The city is undoubtedly alive and is perhaps at its
best with events such as its famous Halloween street party.
Derry is a great base
to visit the Causeway Coast and is only a hop skip and a jump
to Donegals golf courses and with the recent addition of
Ryanairs Low Cost flights direct to the citys airport
it makes for a novel city break. Fermanagh is famous for its angling
and boating holidays. A trip on the Shannon Erne waterway makes
for wonderful memories. This is a nice addition to our Irish programme
for the millennium with some wonderful touring opportunities.
