Piersland Lodge was built in 1899 by the renowned Scottish
architect, William Leiper, as the home for Sir Alexander Walker, grandson of Johnnie
Walker, founder of the Scotch whisky firm. Now a grade A Listed Building, all original
features remain including wood panelling, stone fireplaces, wood carvings and a Jacobean
embroidery frieze worked by the Tapestriere to King George V. The hotel is set in an acre
of beautifully landscaped gardens including an oriental garden. 2 AA Rosettes for the
Brasserie are a testimony to the Chef's culinary expertise. Keeping to the whiskey theme,
each of the bedrooms is based on a malt whisky distillery or family. All the bedrooms have
been fully updated while ensuring their original charm remains. Each room has full
facilities and a room service menu is available. The Piersland House Hotel overlooks Royal
Troon Golf Course. Troon is situated on the south west coast of Scotland and 10 miles
south is the birthplace of Scotland's famous Bard, Robert Burns. Culzean Castle, the seat
of the Kennedy Clan, and now a National Trust Centre and Country Park, is close by.
