We
have an exclusive restaurant adjacent to the hotel, Cellars
Restaurant & Cocktail Bar. This is a fine gourmet dining
restaurant, best described as a 'vibrant, contemporary restaurant
with a fine Scottish menu'. Cellars is predicted to become
one of the best fine dining restaurants in Scotland - within
6 months of opening the restaurant was 'highly commended'
in the Drambuie New Restaurant of the Year Awards.
Set
up in the original cellars area of the Anchorage hotel,
it is decorated in an art deco theme resulting in a mix
of thirties glamour and luxury yacht with a twist. There
is seating for approximately 40 guests and for no extra
charge, a Private Dining Room with an open log fire can
be booked for that extra special occasion.
Cellars
is steeped in local history of the 19th century where it
was once the home of a local fisherman and his family of
seven, offering the services of a coaching inn. Today it
still features the original flooring and stone walls. Candles
burn in profusion creating a highly charged and romantic
atmosphere.
From
the restaurant, you enter through a revolving door into
the elegant scene of a 1930s style cocktail bar, similar
to those on an ocean-going liner. Here the furnishings are
of a high quality and have been used to good effect. Dishes
are created from locally sourced Scottish seafood and the
best of Scottish beef, fruits and vegetables. International
touches are created by Head Chef Robbie O'Keefe. Why not

Head
Chef, Robbie O'Keefe came from one of Glasgow's top gourmet
restaurants and describes his style as "fresh and simple"
and prefers to" let the true flavours speak for themselves
with no heavy sauces. Menus change every month and dishes
on both the Evening and on the lighter Lunch menu are produced
with organic local produce wherever possible.
