Parkland Courses

Letham Grange Resort has two 18 hole courses, set around a Victorian mansion, which is now a four star hotel. The Old Course, officially opened in 1987 by Sir Henry Cotton is a par 73 championship layout, while the shorter par 68 Glens Course opened in 1992.

The Old Course

This is a truly memorable parkland layout incorporating both tree lined and open, rolling fairways. Every hole is different, presenting a variety of challenges to every level of golfer. A feature of the course are the scenic and unforgiving water hazards particularly on the par 3 8th hole and the par 4 10th. The latter is perhaps the best hole on the course, where the second shot, from a narrow fairway, has to negotiate the corner of an encroaching lake in order to find the sanctuary of the green. Once described as the 'Augusta of Scotland' the Old Course, particularly around the turn, bears comparison with the best that inland golf has to offer.

The Glens Course

The Glens Course is more than 1000 yards shorter than its predecessor and does not have the spectacular water holes, so prevalent on the Old Course. It is, however, still a good challenge and the front nine offers some marvellous views of the surrounding Angus countryside. In contrast, the back nine threads its way through a wooded area putting the emphasis firmly on accuracy from the tee.
