Eighteen holes were completed in 1898, with the first and eighteenth holes on the south side of the A198. The course runs alongside number one for the first 7 holes and then sweeps down towards Aberlady Bay - a natural reserve - before turning back towards the Visitor's Clubhouse.
A feature of this course is the quality of its short holes, particularly the 11th. It has also been used as a final qualifying course for the Open.
