 Eighteen holes were established in 1884. The well maintained greens, the links grasses, the numerous bunkers, fresh air and sea breezes make a unique challenge for the golfer.
The panoramic views from the top of Gullane Hill include Arthur's Seat to the west, the Lammermuir Hills to the south, the Bass Rock to the east and across the River Forth to Fife and the north.
This course has hosted many amateur championships and is one of the final qualifying courses for the Open Championship when it is played at Muirfield.
