 Located
near the wonderful traditional Irish town of Ennis, this new addition
to Shannon’s hotel stock is most welcome. A converted country house
the Westwood now boasts four star standard rooms and facilities and
excellent golf course on site. The south west of Ireland has always
been just a little out of the reach of most folks in the UK because of
its remote location but with an increasing choice of low cost airline
flights into Shannon it’s becoming more accessible and infinitely
more affordable. Direct flights are available from Stansted to Shannon
with Ryanair and Virgin Express and cut price fares are often
available. Ennis is only a taxi ride from the airport at Shannon
however we would recommend hire car, which will give you the freedom
to explore the wonderful landscapes and coastlines around the are.
Head north west to the cliffs of Moher or The Burren or even take the
short ferry crossing from Killimer to Tarbert and back to your hotel
via Adare and Limerick. For some late season golf there’s the hotels
own championship layout or Lahinch and Ballybunion will provide the
ultimate test of your links golf playing skills.
