years to favorable comment from members and visitors.
It can be said that golf in Rosslare has never been better.
Links
land is known for its ability to absorb water and Rosslare is
no exception with thecourse playable all year round. The prevailing
south-westerly winds, make the Links both a challenging and an
enjoyable test for golfers. The Links is composed of wind-swept
hills, burrows and sand-banks that constitute typical
Links terrain. The potential for golf was first exploited by an
architect, Mr. JamesFarrellwho founded the club in 1905.
The
Links were recognised as a venue of Championship quality in 1934,
when the IrishClose Championship was held at Rosslare.Since then
many other championships have been hosted by the club including
the Carrolls Irish Professional Machplay Tournament (1982)
