Rosapenna is a four star
hotel situated in North West Donegal beside the fishing village of Downings. Set in 700
acres between Sheephaven and Mulroy Bays, the hotel has its own 18 hole course designed by
old Tom Morris in 1893. The quality of the golf, unlimited access to the links and the
superb facilities of the hotel have attracted golfers to Rosapenna for generations. Here
you can play in a golf atmosphere, enjoy the genuinely warm Donegal hospitality and drink
in the wonderful scenery and pure Atlantic air. The food is fresh from the unpolluted sea,
rivers, lakes and land. The bar is friendly spacious and provides an extremely comfortable
19th hole while the bedrooms offer a relaxing ambience where you can recharge the
batteries for the next days challenges. Tom Morris provided the initial inspiration
for the course which was later modified by both James Braid and Harry Vardon and to this
day the course is one of the most natural in Ireland. The course is a combination of
natural links and inland holes standing between the two bays. Not the most accessible golf
destination in the world but thats not what youre looking for when choosing a
venue like Rosapenna. |
