Royal
Belfast is one of the best golf courses in the north-east of Ireland.
Built in 1925, the course had undergone a number of changes in
location previously but due to the popularity of the course a
bigger location was required. Royal Belfast is 18 holes of challenging
parkland golf on the shore of Belfast Lough.
Local
insight has it that all putts tend to fall towards the sea and
it is generally accepted that accuracy rather than length is the
prime requirement for this course due to the stategic positioning
of bunkers and also the mature trees. The club has been host for
a number of championship events including the Ulster Professional
Championship, the Irish Cup Finals, the Irish Close Championship,
the Ulster Ladies Championship and the lrish Ladies Championship.
