Druids Glen
Golf Club opened in 1995 and has been host to the Murphy's Irish
Open Championship since 1996. The European Tour players and officials
rate Druids Glen as the best championship venue on the tour. Landscaping
is seen to be at the very core of Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock's
dramatic creation now rated by many as Ireland's premier parkland
course.
Eamonn Darcy, prior
to joining as club professional, was moved to exclaim: "At
Druids Glen they have created a complete litany of great hole
thrills - I think it is superb."
Indeed this mystically
named venue is heralded as something akin to a golfing Garden
of Eden, sited in one of the loveliest settings of scenic Co.Wicklow,
itself renowned as the Garden of Ireland. Quite clearly, Druids
Glen has become a golf club apart.
