A
testament to the quality of the course at Tulfarris is reflected
by the Euopean PGA tour's decision to choose it as host to both
the 2000 and 2001 Irish Seniors Open Championship.
Patrick Merrigan, much acclaimed for his work at the Old Head
of Kinsale, Slieve Russell, Faithlegg and Woodenbridge, to mention
but a few, has produced another beautiful course. One that will
shortly take its place alongside The K Club, Mount Juliet and
Druids Glen, all of whom have put on European Tour events with
considerable distinction.
This
long course stretches any golfer for all of its 7,116 yards but,
because of a wide variety of markers, can also play appreciably
shorter if so desired.
